JOB GOAL
To structure the learning environment to study the integrated Math program outlined by the LRSD Curriculum Guides and Arkansas Department of Workforce Education curriculum frameworks.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Nine and one-fourth (9.25) month contract (190 days), plus benefit package.
NOTE:
Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and experience.
FLSA:
EXEMPT.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
2. Valid Arkansas teaching certificate in Math 6-8/High School Math 9-12.
3. Teaching experience preferred.
4. Knowledge of online database management systems.
5. Evidence of ability to work with diverse student populations.
6. Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
7. Strong interpersonal skills.
8. Evidence of strong organizational skills.
9. Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. 1. Evidence of the ability and willingness to successfully integrate the PLTW curriculum where feasible for PLTW Launch.
2. Embrace the K-8 school configuration and best practices that will promote student success while adopting a student-centered focus.
3. Supports the vision and mission of Forest Heights STEM Academy by working collaboratively with the administration and ALL staff to create a positive, safe and kid friendly learning environment.
4. Demonstrates strong work ethics, a passion for creativity and always open minded to new and innovative ideas.
5. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
6. Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. 7. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
8. Prepares for classes assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of the principal.
9. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
10. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with those goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
11. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the site provided and the needs and capabilities of the students. 12. Assesses the accomplishments of students and provides progress reports.
13. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as time permits.
14. Maintains content area inventory through periodic purchase requests approved by the principal.
15. Integrates mathematics with other content areas by illustrating mathematical applications.
16. Assists in identifying and utilizing community resources such as field trips.
17. Assumes the primary responsibility for teaching mathematics to assigned students and to coach/sponsor math competitions such as Math Olympiads.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.

Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director
