Job Description
Assistant Professor in Sociology
- Temporary/One-year Appointment
The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Criminology, and Social Work is seeking a Sociology faculty member for the 2025-2026 academic year for a one-year, full-time (non-tenure track) Assistant Professor Position.
The department is looking for a generalist in Sociology with the ability to teaching Introduction to Sociology and to contribute courses to one of our concentrations (Generalist; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and Mental Health and Social Services). For example, this faculty member might be asked to teach Social Inequality, Sociology of Mental Illness, or other elective courses in the major faculty are expected to teach a 4/4 load, hold in-person office hours, advise students, and carry out service for the department. Faculty are expected to be outstanding teachers, possess sensitivity to a diverse population, and demonstrate commitment to creative activity and scholarship, professional development, and professional service. All courses will be taught in person.
Qualifications:
PhD in Sociology preferred; ABD near completion considered.
Prior teaching experience is preferred

Instructor/Assistant Professor (One-Year, Full Time Position/Mathematics)
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a faculty member for the 2025-26 academic year for a one-year, full time (non-tenure track) Instructor/Assistant Professor position. The department is especially interested in applicants with expertise in statistics, data science or a related field, but applicants with expertise in any area of mathematics will be considered. The faculty member will be expected to teach a full course load, advise students, participate in department meetings, hold regular office hours, and adhere to all other expectations of a full-time faculty member. All courses are taught in person on campus (no online instruction).
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must: have, at a minimum, a master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
be capable of teaching undergraduate statistics, precalculus, calculus, and math for liberal arts.
have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Prior teaching experience is preferred.
