Job Description:
The purpose of the job is to serve in an educator capacity in the teaching, instruction and guidance of students enrolled in various academic courses within the appropriate grade or academic level. Employees in this job classification are responsible for adhering to established curriculum standards for the particular course delivered, and for complying with established instructional guidelines as established by Round Lake Charter School and educational systems appropriate to the course. Work includes course delivery, administration of tests (or equivalent course criteria), and the tabulation and submission of students’ final course grades. Incumbents perform essential functions as outlined herein according to the specific course or discipline of assignment. Performs related work as directed.
Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Planning and Delivery:
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the standards and curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Integrate technology and innovative practices into the classroom to enhance learning outcomes. 2.
Student Assessment and Support:
o Monitor and assess student progress through formal and informal evaluations, including tests, quizzes, and assignments. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth. Identify and address individual student needs, including those requiring additional support or enrichment. 3.
Classroom Management:
Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and orderly classroom environment. Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and minimize disruptions. Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration. 4.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with colleagues, including other teachers, support staff, and administrators, to coordinate instructional activities and address student needs. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns or achievements. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices. 5.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Prepare reports and contribute to school-wide initiatives as needed. Adhere to school policies and procedures, including those related to safety, ethics, and confidentiality.
Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal to support the school’s mission and goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field Valid teaching certification/license as required by state regulations. Proven experience as a classroom teacher or instructional role, preferably in a similar educational setting. Strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Proficiency in using educational technology and tools. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, sit, and move around the classroom for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry materials such as books, supplies, and classroom equipment.
