Teaching Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Elementary Math Interventionist provides targeted, small-group or individualized math instruction to students who are performing below grade level. This role focuses on accelerating students’ math achievement through data-driven intervention strategies, collaboration with classroom teachers, and progress monitoring to ensure academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based math interventions to students in grades K-5, both in pull-out and push-in models. Identify students in need of intervention using assessment data (e.g., i-Ready, MAP, district benchmarks). Develop and implement instructional plans that align with school and district curriculum standards. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction as needed. Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and administrators to support student learning. Participate in
RTI/MTSS
meetings and contribute to decision-making for student intervention plans. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians and staff. Provide input on instructional resources and strategies that promote mathematical understanding. Support professional development efforts by modeling best practices in math instruction when needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. Valid teaching certification (Elementary Education or Mathematics Endorsement preferred). Minimum 2 years of elementary teaching experience, with a strong understanding of math pedagogy. Experience with intervention programs, progress monitoring tools, and differentiated instruction. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and fostering a growth mindset in all learners.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with
RTI/MTSS
frameworks. Ability to analyze data to inform instruction and identify trends. Comfort working with diverse student populations and learning needs.
