This course is designed for our 11th grade students and focuses on strengthening mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills relevant to real-world applications and college readiness in non-STEM fields.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging instruction aligned with Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards for Math for College Liberal Arts . Design lessons that emphasize critical thinking, logic, financial literacy, number theory, algebraic reasoning, and statistical analysis. Create a supportive learning environment that encourages participation, inquiry, and growth mindset. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students. Assess student learning using formative and summative tools and provide timely feedback. Use data to inform instruction and provide intervention or enrichment as needed. Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support student success. Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff. Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and team meetings. Qualifications Experience teaching Math for College Liberal Arts or related math courses such as Math for College Algebra or Financial Algebra. Knowledge of Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards and postsecondary math pathways. Familiarity with digital tools, graphing calculators, and blended learning strategies.
