Job Description
The Cape Girardeau Public School District is seeking a Part-time Math Teacher for Terry W. Kitchen Junior High School for the 2025-26 academic year. The Math teacher is responsible for facilitating the learning of 7th and 8th grade mathematics content for every student by creating a stimulating learning environment and reteaching academic lessons to assist all students in reaching their own academic potential.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Math Education
Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
Strong mathematical content knowledge
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the needs of a diverse student population
Ability to work collaboratively with teams and nurture relationships
An aptitude for mentoring and fostering teacher-student relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree and/or Advanced Mathematics Certificate
Prior experience teaching Algebra and Geometry content
Previous experience working with Power of ICU Program
Working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities
