Mathematics Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Summer Math Teacher to join our team and help underperforming high school seniors successfully transition to university-level mathematics. This role requires a passionate educator who is skilled in connecting with students, has a strong background in mathematics, and is creative in implementing best practices to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum tailored to high school seniors who require additional support in preparation for university coursework.
Identify individual student needs and adapt teaching methods to meet those needs, ensuring each student gains confidence and proficiency in mathematics.
Utilize creative and innovative teaching strategies to engage students and make learning enjoyable and effective.
Collaborate with other teachers, counselors, and school staff to track student progress and implement interventions when necessary.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate.
Regularly assess students’ progress through formative and summative assessments, providing feedback to guide their improvement.
Maintain open communication with students, parents, and guardians to report on student progress and address any concerns.
Stay updated with the latest educational best practices and incorporate them into lesson planning and instruction. Required Qualifications A Master’s Degree in Mathematics or 18 hours in mathematics coursework.
Professional experience teaching mathematics at the high school or college level, preferably with underperforming or underdeveloped students.
