JOB DESCRIPTION

The Mathematics Instructor is a full‐time, Fall ONLY 5-month salaried position responsible for teaching Mathematics courses. These responsibilities involve implementing course syllabi, achieving student learning outcomes, evaluating student performance, record-keeping, and related activities. Related activities include, but are not limited to, advising, and participating in recruiting and retention efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree in Mathematics or a Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
Community College teaching experience in Math Experience teaching online
Experience with classroom technology
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills required

REPORTS TO

District Director of Mathematics Instruction

CONTRACT TERM

Five (5) months

HOURS:

8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Monday-Thursday)

DUTIES AND

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach Math courses, primarily Intermediate Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and College Algebra Prepare, administer, and grade essays, tests, other assignments, and/or program assessment data Maintain a record of student attendance as required by the Mississippi Community College Board
Submit grades, attendance, and outcomes according to the academic calendar
Manage timely engagement, grading, and communication Participate in departmental meetings Complete 5 hours of professional development Ability to travel between campus locations Establish effective relationships with college administration, faculty, staff, and students.
Adhere to school policy as set in the Policy and Procedures Manual
Perform other duties as assigned by the District Director of Mathematics
