Job Description

Title I Intervention Specialist 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 300 E South St, Kennett Square, PA 19348 Kennett Consolidated School District is seeking a dynamic Title I Intervention Specialist who will nurture, prepare, and empower ALL students and staff to succeed in their academic, social, and emotional journey. A teacher who exhibits a belief in the importance of relationships and resiliency through a student-centered approach will be able to successfully support the district’s mission and vision. Kennett’s uniquely diverse student population makes applicants considered to be fluent or bilingual highly sought. Applicants with at least three (3) Spanish courses at the college/university level or who have a command of conversational Spanish are encouraged to apply.

JOB GOAL

To educate students in the Kennett Consolidated School District by: Providing direct support to increase the reading and mathematics skills of students Modeling effective classroom strategies and instruction Collaborating with teachers to provide interventions for reading and mathematics

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid PA Elementary and Reading Specialist Certificate Knowledge of reading and mathematics curriculum, state standards and practices Current Acts 34, 151, 114 and 168 Background clearances

RESPONSIBILITES

Implements required Title I activities with parents, students, and staff. Uses individual student assessment data to construct appropriate reading and/or mathematics improvement plans for Title I students. Communicates with parents, staff and students about student progress. Models best practices in teaching. Maintains an accurate log of student and staff support services. Collaborates with classroom teachers to identify and implement specific strategies to improve performance of Title I students. Assists data teams in reviewing building assessment data to recommend and support grade level improvement goals. Attends faculty meetings, parent conference nights, school functions and serves on committee work related to the Title I Program. All other duties as assigned. Acts as a resource for staff and parents regarding individual pupil evaluations and/or problems. Excellent medical benefits, state pension, and tuition reimbursement.
