Job Description

Qualifications:

1. Valid SC teaching certification
Master’s degree preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of curriculum development and instructional improvement in math and science
Ability to analyze data and use it to inform instruction and intervention.

Responsibilities:

Math Coaching (Approximately 50% of the role):
Provide in-class coaching for K-5 teachers in math through co-planning, modeling, co-teaching, and mentoring.
Observe instruction, offer feedback, and analyze assessment data (SC Ready, iReady, benchmarks, etc.) to inform teacher practice.
Support curriculum alignment and delivery of research-based instructional strategies in math.
Facilitate data meetings and assist teachers in making instructional decisions based on data.
Coordinate and facilitate professional development in math in collaboration with district and school leadership.
Collaborate regularly with administration to reflect on school needs and develop instructional action plans.
Stay current on evidence-based practices through professional learning and educational research.
Math Intervention (Approximately 50% of the role):
Provide explicit, evidence-based math instruction to individual students or small groups to support Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
Monitor student progress, adjust instruction, and communicate data to staff and families as appropriate.
Work with school staff to implement and evaluate effective math intervention strategies.
Use valid, systematic data collection methods to assess impact on student achievement.
Consult with teachers and staff to meet the diverse learning needs of students and to support individualized instruction.
Assist in the interpretation of diagnostic math assessments to identify specific student needs.
Participate in professional development and support initiatives related to math intervention.

Salary:

Dependent upon placement on the UCSD teacher salary scale
