Teaching Full Job Description Qualifications:

Valid South Carolina certification certified in Elementary Education Endorsement for gifted education on South Carolina teaching certificate Minimum five years teaching experience preferably with GT students Outstanding leadership skills Knowledge of GT curriculum and instruction

Job Goal:

To meet the academic and socio-emotional needs of students who are talented by providing advanced curriculum, differentiation of instruction, and appropriate models of gifted education Reports to:

Principal Job Responsibilities:

Develops program objectives, enrichment units and process curricula for gifted program Develops lesson plans, including activities and material, and implements objectives through individual and small group activities Serves as a resource person in gifted education for all district personnel Communicates with students, parents, regular classroom teachers and administrators through conferences and other means to discuss student’s progress and interpret the gifted program Employs a variety of instructional techniques, strategies, and media, consistent with capabilities of the individuals or student group involved Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy administrative regulations and gifted program plan Assigns tasks that are intellectually challenging to students Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills Participates in opportunities for professional development, including participation in professional organizations and application of professional literature, attends staff meetings, local training sessions, and state conferences Maintains positive relationships with parents and conducts parent conferences Create an environment in which the gifted can use their strengths, explore their personal and interpersonal development Provide instruction and activities for problem based learning
