Job Summary The JAGTN Teacher utilizes current strategies and theories to plan, organize and implement structured lessons to instruct and steward high school students toward graduation with follow through toward post-secondary education and/or job opportunities. What you will do Instruct students in an in-person classroom environment through lectures, discussions, visual aids, instructional strategies, and other effective teaching methods for student comprehension. Teach required Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) curriculum. Assist students with job search and job development and contacting prospective employers regarding employment for students upon graduation. Recruit appropriate students for participation in the program. Monitor student progress, complete necessary paperwork, maintain student files, and maintain the JAG database through ensuring accurate and timely data entry and reporting. Consult with guidance counselors on student issues and meet with teachers, counselors and parents of students as needed. Must be reasonably available to students after hours and maintain confidentiality of student information. Conduct monthly follow up for 12 months after planned graduation date per the JAG model and enter all data in the JAGForce system. Provide or arranging personal tutoring services for students who need it. Education Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution Required Skills and Abilities Good oral and written communication skills Good knowledge of and contacts within the employer community Good organization skills, administrative skills, and attention to detail required. Instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learner. Student management. Knowledge of school safety & security procedures. Demonstrated ability to work well with students, staff, and parents in a professional manner. Licenses and Certifications Teaching Certification/License Tennessee Teaching License with any secondary endorsement Required Must attend
JTG State Training Required Equivalency Starting At:
$52,048.58 Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
