Pope John Paul II Preparatory School, a faith-based institution just north of Nashville, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher who is committed to fostering critical thinking, logical reasoning, and a lifelong love of learning in students from grades 6-12. Our Math Department strives to develop thoughtful and articulate individuals who can overcome challenges and recognize the beauty and truth of the world through mathematics. We believe in the potential of every student to grow and succeed in the math classroom. We are looking for a dynamic educator who can teach a range of standard and honors math classes across multiple grade levels.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:
A major in a STEM field or significant professional experience in STEM, demonstrating an understanding of mathematics that goes beyond the surface of the content. Experience teaching math at the high school level is preferred. A strong commitment to Catholic Values and the mission of Pope John Paul II Preparatory School, integrating faith and a Catholic worldview into classroom lessons, encouraging moral and ethical reasoning, and modeling Christian values daily. A licensure to teach in the state of Tennessee or the willingness to obtain licensure within 3 years. A demonstrated passion, enthusiasm, and curiosity for learning, especially in mathematics. A willingness to engage in spiritual and professional growth outside of the classroom and adopt new technology to enhance student learning. An eagerness to help students make connections between mathematical ideas and the world around them. A belief in the potential of all students, demonstrated by adjusting lessons and assessments to meet diverse needs while maintaining high expectations and providing prompt, constructive feedback. The ability to communicate compassionately with families and students, participate in school and departmental initiatives, and represent the school positively within the community.
