Job Description
Washington Central Unified Union School District is looking for a positive, experienced and enthusiastic educator to join U-32’s Math Department as a full-time Middle School Math substitute during a teacher’s leave of absence, dates to be determined. The ideal candidate will have the ability to plan, organize, and implement a proficiency-based instructional program, have experience in project-based and interdisciplinary teaching, and experience using Common Core Math Standards. Must be able to work creatively and collaboratively to create an environment that invites respect for all persons, relate a sense of fairness, and practice commitment to inclusion and diversity. Training in restorative practices is preferred.
The 700-student, 7-12 school is located on a beautiful hilltop campus in Central Vermont. U-32 is an individualistic, student-centered school with an outstanding reputation in academics, athletics, and the arts.
Candidates must be:
Enthusiastic and student centered;
Committed to educating all students to high standards;
Skilled in proficiency-based instruction & assessment;
Licensed by the State of VT with Math, Grades 7-12, or Middle Grades Math, Grades 5-9, endorsement.
