After School Counselor 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Oakland Park, FL 33309 We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Counselor to join our team in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for elementary school-aged children. The ideal candidate will support physical activity, assist with homework planning and supervision, and create fun and educational activities to enhance the children’s learning experience.

Requirements Supervision and Care:

Provide attentive supervision and care for children in a safe environment, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times.

Homework Support:

Assist students with their homework, offering guidance and encouragement to help them complete assignments effectively.

Activity Planning:

Develop and implement engaging classroom activities that promote physical activity, creativity, and social interaction. Activities may include arts and crafts, games, sports, and educational projects.

Physical Activity Support:

Encourage and facilitate physical activities, ensuring that children are active and engaged. This includes organizing outdoor games and structured exercise routines.

Communication:

Maintain open communication with parents, providing updates on their child’s progress and activities. Foster positive relationships with students to build trust and a supportive atmosphere.

Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure that program objectives are met and to create a cohesive team environment.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with elementary school-aged children in a classroom or after-school setting is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all children. Knowledge of child development and educational practices. First Aid/CPR certification is a plus. Proficiency in Spanish (preferred)

Benefits Compensation:

$21.00 – $23.00 per hour
