Middle School Language Arts Teacher Somerset Preparatory Charter School at North Lauderdale 7101 Kimberly Blvd, North Lauderdale, FL 33068 Middle School Language Arts Teacher Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Language Arts Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a love for reading and writing among students, while also promoting critical thinking and effective communication skills. This role involves creating an engaging classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs and encourages student growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to various learning styles. Educate students in language arts, including reading, writing, grammar, and literature analysis. Utilize effective teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and engagement in the subject matter. Provide mentoring and support to students, fostering their academic growth and personal development. Assess student performance through standardized testing and other evaluation methods, providing constructive feedback for improvement. Incorporate elements of journalism into lessons to enhance students’ writing skills and creativity. Maintain an organized classroom environment that promotes learning and respect among peers. Collaborate with fellow educators to share best practices and contribute to a positive school culture. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field; certification in Language Arts preferred. Valid FLDOE teaching certificate Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Proficiency in proofreading and editing written work, guiding students in refining their writing skills. Previous experience in mentoring or tutoring is highly desirable. A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to student success are essential qualities for this role.
