QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Bachelor’s degree (in Education preferred or Science Related Field such as Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Marine Sciences),
State Certification or Statement of Eligibility Computer Skills:
PowerPoint (or similar), Word, and Google Apps.
FUNCTION
Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instruction consistent with St. Mark’s mission and philosophy.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and update grade-and course-specific curriculum map to ensure all required subject matter is covered during the school year.
Develop weekly lesson plans based on required components as well as individual class needs.
Demonstrate effective classroom management, utilizing learning centers or student workstations and differentiating and individualizing instruction and developing student behavior modification techniques.
Maintain effective and timely two-way communication with parents regarding their children’s progress, performance, and areas of concern, and schedule parent conferences as required.
Maintain thorough and accurate grades on an ongoing basis and meet report card deadlines using Renweb.
Integrate technology into the classroom as available and needed
Conduct formal and informal group and individual diagnostic assessments. Administer periodic subject matter tests.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and supervise student field trips.
Accompany students to Learning Resources and collaborate with Learning Resource teacher, to enrich high achieving students and to improve skills in areas identified in the Standardized Test item analysis for other students.
Participate in professional development opportunities to learn and utilize tools and techniques that improve classroom effectiveness.
