Movement & Games Teacher (Grades 1-8) Spring River School•Jacksonville, FL $25•35/hour | 8-10 hours/week | Monday-Thursday afternoons Spring River School, a Waldorf-inspired outdoor homeschool enrichment program, is seeking a part-time Movement & Games Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025-26 school year. This role brings the joy of purposeful movement, cooperative games, and physical development to children in Grades 1-8 within an outdoor learning environment. This position also includes a special focus on supporting 5th grade students as they prepare for the Greek Games , a culminating festival that celebrates the grace, strength, and cultural wisdom of ancient Greece.
Position Overview Schedule:
Monday-Thursday afternoons
Hours:
8-10 hours/week (includes paid planning time)
Pay:
$25•35/hour, depending on experience
Support:
Teaching Assistant in each class
Location:
Outdoor classrooms in Atlantic Beach, FL Responsibilities Lead engaging, developmentally appropriate movement and games classes for Grades 1-8 Incorporate cooperative games, rhythm work, spatial awareness, running games, folk dances, and seasonal activities Support 5th grade with skills and preparation for the Greek Games, including form, technique, and group harmony Adapt movement curriculum to the outdoor/nature-based setting of the school Collaborate with faculty on school festivals and community events as needed Foster confidence, teamwork, and joy through physical expression
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience teaching movement, PE, games, or child-centered physical activities Interest in Waldorf education, Spacial Dynamics, or other holistic movement practices Comfort working outdoors and leading physical activities in varied weather A steady, warm presence and ability to inspire and guide mixed-age groups Enthusiasm for helping students grow in skill, rhythm, and social connection
