- The primary role of the security representative is to interact with parents, visitors, staff and ensure ultimate site safety including but not limited to student physical and environmental safety. . o Control visitor and employee building access. o Conduct security checks for specified areas. o Complete reports on anything they observed while on duty. o Detain any violators.
- Security must become familiar with the site operations to address any general client concerns, answer their questions and assist them with their needs.
- A security personnel is often the first line of communication between the Site Supervisor and a parent. o Therefore, maintaining professionalism, calmness and help guide the parent, visitor and staff to the appropriate HFM personnel
- Security might have to answer parent, visitor, and staff phone calls and respond or forward the information/ call to the Site Supervisor.
- Protect an employer’s property and enforce HFM policies and procedures.
- Respond quickly to any emergencies, and conduct scenario planning drills with teams to ensure systems are in place in the event of an emergency. o Help facilitate and implement monthly Fire Drills and Emergency Drills o Help facilitate Emergency site shut down procedures and drills to ensure site safety and readiness
- Work with the Site Supervisor to ensure Site Specific Safety Plan is followed and updated
- Ensure all promotional materials, event flyers, and other documents are available at the front desk and passed out to parents, visitors and staff.
- Maintain and collect any pending data from the parents, visitors and staff such as; o Staff sign in logs o Visitor/ volunteer sign in
- Ability to communicate across all forms of communication for site logistics and safety such as cell phone, walkie talkie, intercom etc.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
GED POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Available to work the required program hours
- Reliable personal transportation and personal cell phone
- Proven prior experience as security or in a similar role
