Duties & Responsibilities:

Reflect the purpose of the school which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity. Provide excellent service to all students, families, co-workers, and school administration Show by example the importance of Scripture study and memorization, prayer, witnessing, and unity in the Body of Christ. Be in whole-hearted agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education. Meet the physical, emotional, and educational needs of the children in their care. Work in a team environment; build and maintain healthy, cooperative relationships. Communicate positively and effectively with the Site Director. Adhere to all policies and procedures both organizationally and departmentally to ensure the safety of children, parents, and staff. Model positive behavior and educate children in a manner which contributes to mature and responsible behavior. Implement the curriculum and schedule provided on a daily basis and provide feedback to such on a weekly basis.

Qualifications:

Must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. Must be able to demonstrate active membership and involvement in an evangelical local church. Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech and actions toward others. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma. Satisfactory Criminal Background Screening & Drug Screening. First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (Must be completed within 30 days of hiring).

Skills:

Ability to integrate prayer into the classroom, and if necessary pray with students and their families teaching them to rely on God at all times. Eagerness to learn. Ability to integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities. Highly motivated, enthusiastic, patient, responsible, and dedicated to enhancing program performance and impact. Strong communication skills for interactions with children and administration. Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities for daily challenges.

Familiarity with and adherence to policies and procedures. Flexibility to perform additional tasks as required. Promptly communicate any concerns to the Site Director.

Discover After School Seasonal Camp Opportunity Disclosure:

At Discover After School, our main employment period is from August to June, with seasonal camp opportunities available during breaks. Staffing for camps depends on student enrollment, so not all staff may work during seasonal camp breaks. We conduct a survey at the end of each season to determine who is interested in working seasonal camps. Managers choose top counselors based on their work ethics and reliability, emphasizing factors like attendance and punctuality because camp is a full-day commitment and requires dependable staff. Additionally, we survey employees at the end of the school year to confirm who will return for the next school year.
