This position requires a bachelors degree and experience working with students with significant behavior needs. A teacher certification is required but we will assist you in securing this. $1,000 sign on bonus – if dual certified (ESE/Elementary) teacher certification. This position also includes a differential stipend twice a year ($1500 annually)

UCF Job Specifications:

(Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required) The ESE Behavior Teacher is the instructional leader of a classroom of approximately 9 students with behavior challenges (with two paraprofessionals). Each teacher must believe that “all children can learn” and have a commitment and knowledge to differentiate instruction to allow all students to develop to their fullest potential.

Additional knowledge/skills and abilities include:

Experience assessing children, collecting and using data to drive instruction. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse students and differentiating instruction. Ability to work cooperatively with parents and staff. Experience writing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEP). Uses visual supports at the correct level of symbolic functioning to enhance predictability, support transitions, and convey expectations. Provides direct instruction in functional communication skills and plans activities that are language-based and encourage communication opportunities for all students, including students with limited language or who are nonverbal. Provides direct instruction in social/emotional skills and plans activities that encourage functional play skills and social interactions between peers and adults in the school environment. Provides instruction in independent functioning skills and promotes self-help and independence for all students at their highest potential.
