The Growth Academy at The GEM is a full-time homeschool program designed for student-athletes, blending accredited online education with elite basketball training in a supportive environment.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Home School Moderator with a teaching background to support our students’ academic journey. This role involves facilitating daily learning activities, communicating with parents and Florida Virtual School (FLVS) teachers, leading a monthly book club with an associated project, and organizing monthly field trips.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and assist students during their FLVS coursework sessions. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and any concerns. Collaborate with FLVS teachers to align on student needs and curriculum. Plan and lead a monthly book club, including coordinating a related project. Organize and oversee monthly educational field trips. Maintain a structured and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification preferred. Experience with online learning platforms, particularly FLVS. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to engage and motivate students in a homeschool setting.

Compensation:

$25- $30 per hour
