1K a year 1 day ago Qualifications Teaching Certification Mid-level 3 years Bachelor’s degree Full Job Description The Part-Time STEM Teacher leads engaging, hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math for students in grades 1 through 8. Working two days a week, this educator designs and delivers creative lessons that spark curiosity, build problem-solving skills, and promote collaboration. The teacher guides students through experiments, challenges, and projects that bring STEM concepts to life, helping them grow in confidence and capability. This role suits someone who thrives on inspiring young learners and brings energy and innovation into every lesson. Hours are typically Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Design and deliver engaging STEM lessons tailored to grade levels 1-8 and a variety of learning styles. 2. Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages exploration and experimentation. 3. Incorporate project-based learning, collaborative activities, and real-world applications into the curriculum. 4. Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance student understanding and participation. 5. Assess student progress through observations, projects, and informal assessments, providing feedback to support growth. 6. Collaborate with other educators and staff to align STEM activities with broader educational goals. 7. Maintain classroom materials, equipment, and safety protocols, especially during hands-on experiments or engineering challenges. 8. Encourage students to develop problem-solving skills, resilience, and teamwork through STEM challenges and activities. 9. Collaborate with the Roberts Academy faculty and staff. 10. Effectively communicate with parents and other stakeholders related to the students. 11. Contribute to the success of The Roberts Academy by performing all other duties as needed to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of Florida Southern College.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Earned baccalaureate degree in a science
- technology
- engineering
- or math-related field, Elementary Education, or related field.
2. Fingerprinting clearance and background check, including Clearinghouse approval. 3. 3-5 years’ experience working with K-12 students. 4. Desire to work with students in a private school learning environment. 5. Professional dress and demeanor.
