Part Time- Middle School Science Teacher Island Prep School 4001 A1a S, Saint Augustine, FL 32080 Job Summary We are seeking passionate and dedicated Middle School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for young learners. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, implementing effective teaching strategies, and supporting the academic and social development of students in grades K-8. The School Teachers will work collaboratively with staff, parents, and the community to ensure each child reaches their full potential. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students. Utilize learning technology to enhance instructional delivery and engage students in the learning process. Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a respectful and inclusive environment. Assess student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations, providing feedback to students and parents. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and share best practices for teaching strategies. Provide individualized support through tutoring or special education resources as needed. Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance while ensuring compliance with school policies. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and practices. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required; teaching certification preferred. Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is highly desirable. Strong skills in behavior management techniques to create a conducive learning atmosphere. Familiarity with curriculum development processes and instructional best practices. Proficiency in writing lesson plans, reports, and other educational materials; proofreading skills are a plus. Knowledge of special education practices is beneficial for supporting diverse learners. A solid understanding of math concepts appropriate for elementary/middle school education is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
