Teaching Full Job Description Overview:

We are seeking a passionate Science/Social Studies Teacher to join our team and inspire students in the field of Social Studies and Sciences. As a Social Studies/Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds and fostering a love for experimentation, research and learning other scientific skills, as well as history, geography, civics, and other social studies subjects.

Duties:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum standards
• Utilize learning technology to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students
• Conduct research laboratory activities to supplement classroom learning
• Foster critical thinking skills through interactive teaching methods
• Organize and oversee laboratory experiments, projects, or field trips related to social studies topics
• Offer tutoring and support to students who require additional assistance
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Dissect complex historical events and concepts for student comprehension

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field; Master’s degree preferred
• State teaching certification in Social Studies/Science or related discipline
• Proven experience in higher education teaching or related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in lesson planning and curriculum development
• Ability to mentor and guide students academically and personally
• Familiarity with academic advising practices
• Experience with learning technology integration in the classroom
