Position Summary:

This position involves a full-time middle school teaching position, primarily teaching beginning Spanish classes at Level 1. This position begins on August 1, 2025.

Specific Duties Include:

Instructing students in subject content along with reading and grading student work Demonstrating a high level of responsiveness to students Serving as a homeroom teacher to a group of middle school students Experience with proficiency-based instruction in an immersive environment preferred Managing student behavior in a manner that optimizes the learning environment Maintain regular communication with students and their parents regarding progress Working cooperatively with other grade-level teachers to implement common course syllabi and assessments

Required Skills:

Have a working knowledge and experience teaching high school Spanish Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating tact and diplomacy Ability to leverage technology, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Google apps, language lab software, and interactive whiteboard technology A solid understanding of learning challenges as well as the accommodations and differentiated learning techniques to support such Strong organizational and classroom management skills

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in Spanish or Foreign Language Education from an accredited institution of higher learning; master’s degree in Spanish or education preferred; native or near native fluency in Spanish 3+ years of successful teaching high school Spanish preferred Independent school experience preferred, but not required The Spanish Teacher, Middle School position is a exempt, 10-month position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and substantial benefits are available.
