(New Orleans, LA) ‹ image 1 of 1 › no pay Local production is currently casting for a teaser shooting the end of July or beginning of August for a one day shoot. We’re filming a powerful and heartfelt teaser The Sound of Keys, created by a passionate nonprofit team dedicated to uplifting community voices through storytelling. We’re looking for authentic, expressive, and committed individuals to bring our characters to life.

Synopsis:

At Catholic elementary school, a devoted nun-principal — leads with unwavering faith, fierce love, and firm discipline. As the world around her begins to shift, she becomes a steady light, reminding her students and community what it means to lead with purpose, heart, and grace. Looking for bold, passionate actors to bring a heart-centered community film to life!” ????

Roles Available:
PRINCIPAL
  • Black, African American, Female. 30-50, slim body type, (Lead role) A Catholic nun and principal. Strong, commanding presence with a deep maternal warmth. She’s both feared and deeply loved. Walks with purpose. Her presence alone commands silence and respect.
Traits:

Authoritative, nurturing, dignified, intelligent.

    Physical Note:

    Carries keys at her side; wears full habit. TEACHER

    • Black, African American, Female, 30-45, (Supporting role) A caring but overwhelmed teacher trying to manage a noisy class. Clearly respects school principal.
    Traits:

    Kind-hearted, flustered, eager to do well.

    ALERT STUDENT
    • Black, African American, All Genders, 10
    • 13, (Day player) The first student to hear the keys.

    Acts as the class’s early-warning system. Sharp, observant.

    MISCHIEVOUS STUDENT
    • Black, African American, All Genders, 10
    • 13, (Featured Extra) Students goofing off at the start of the scene — throwing paper, drumming on desks, chewing gum, etc. Their personalities contrast with how quickly they snap into shape when principal approaches.

    Playful, expressive faces, strong physical timing.

    CLASSROOM STUDENTS
    • Black, African American, All Genders, 10
    • 13, (Extra) Students who react in unison to principal’s entrance.
