QUALIFICATIONS

School Personnel (Bulletin 746)

School Principal

School Personnel as designated by the Principal
JOB GOAL
To assist the Principal in providing leadership in developing,
achieving, and maintaining a strong instructional program
TERM:
Nine Months
SALARY:
Nine Month Teacher Salary Schedule
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
I. To serve as Instructional Leader/Coach of Classroom Teachers
a. Team-Teach
b. Model Lessons
c. Provide Classroom Support
d. Participate in Grade-Level Lesson Planning, Assessments, & Data
Disaggregation
II. To research, share, and model teaching strategies that have proven effective in
improving student performance through weekly professional learning communities
(PLC’s)
III. To observe and critique teaching methods and to assist teachers in implementing
research-based teaching strategies aligned with the Louisiana Student Standards
IV. To make recommendations to the principal relative to teacher performance and
evaluation
V. To provide job-embedded support and guidance to teachers
VI. To plan and implement professional development activities with principals and teachers
VII. To analyze student performance data and align curriculum to meet the objectives of the
school improvement plan
VIII. To ensure the integrity and validity of all assessments administered and that all
assessments are aligned with state assessments, Louisiana Student Standards, and
Grade-Level Expectations
IX. To analyze results of summative assessments to determine student growth and identify
strengths and weaknesses
X. To report on curriculum and instruction to the principal
XI. To establish and execute a professional growth plan
XII. To work effectively and foster open communication with school personnel and staff
XIII. To submit accurate records and report promptly
XIV. To exhibit professional ethics and consistently demonstrate self-direction
XV. To foster open communication and positive relationships with school personnel and staff
XVI. To accept and perform other duties assigned by the Principal in relation to curriculum
and instruction
XVII. To follow State, School Board and School policies
All other professional staff shall be expected to perform the following duties, along with the completion of corresponding documents, forms, and reports (if applicable):
1. Instructional Components
Fulfill duties traditionally expected of those in teaching profession
Lesson Plans
Instruction
Collaborate with colleagues and departments
Grade Papers
Take and record attendance
Enter/Average Grades
Maintain positive and timely interaction with parents relative to the performance or conduct of students assigned to the teacher
School committees or task forces to contribute to school improvement initiatives
Educational or coaching best practices and techniques
2. Supervision
Supervision of Students when students are on or off campus at a school related/sponsored event
Supervision of Students prior to school and/or drop-off, when assigned
Supervision of Students in the classroom
Supervision of students between classes, during recess/intermission, during lunch assemblies
Supervision of Students after school and/or pick-up, when assigned
3. Non-instructional Components
Attend meetings generally associated with the instruction of students
Attend faculty, staff, and department meetings
Attend training sessions
Attend IEP meetings
Attend parent-teacher conferences
Attend back-to-school and open-house events
Attend graduation
Attend PGP, PIP, Evaluation, Observation, IAP, and student discipline meetings/hearings
Attend school board/committee meetings, upon request
4. Extracurricular Activities
Attend all meetings and functions of those activities, clubs, or groups of which the employee is a sponsor

$44,522 Per Year
Job Requirements
Master degree preferred.
