Do you want to share your enthusiasm and excitement with kids in a fun team-oriented setting? Nauset Youth Alliance (NYA) is seeking a creative, energetic, and professional afterschool group leader coordinator. NYA is a private, non-profit parent-led organization with in-kind use of the Brewster, MA elementary schools. We provide a nurturing and fun after-school environment. Our daily schedule includes both structured programming such as homework, arts and crafts, sports, science, drama, and special events, as well as unstructured free play. We strive to promote the social and emotional development of the children by helping them gain self-confidence, positive relationships, decision-making, conflict resolution skills, and independence. We promote an environment that celebrates diversity and respects individual differences. This job begins September 2nd, 2025. When you join our team as a Group Leader, you will: Provide a fun engaging program where children are not only learning but also having fun! Use a variety of materials and resources for children to explore and manipulate both in learning activities and imaginative play. Exercise positive discipline approaches to maintain order and address challenging behaviors Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and sports.

Required Skills and Experience:

18 years or older with at least a Bachelors’ degree in any field or an Associate’s degree in Early Education or related field, and have some experience working with school aged children. OR, a high school diploma and one year experience working with school aged children. A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day Must meet state specific guidelines for the role Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children. Ability to speak, read, and write English.

Benefits:
  • $20.00-24.000 per hour
  • Paid for time when school is closed during the academic year.
  • Flexible schedule (Fridays are necessary) – up to 25 hours per week.
  • School vacations off. Opportunity to also work our summer program preferred, though not a requirement for this position
