High School Teacher Dearborn STEP Program 575 Washington Street, Newton, MA 02458 Job Overview Dearborn STEP Assessment is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our small, dynamic team. The position follows the traditional 180-day school year. The ideal candidate is curious about how students learn and what impacts their school performance. This role requires a blend of compassion, flexibility, and creative problem-solving to effectively support students at a critical stage. As a member of a close-knit team (7 full-time staff, 6 clinical interns, and 2 consultants), you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful and lasting impact on students and their families during one of the most vulnerable times in their education. STEP is committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where staff can directly influence the educational trajectory of each student. Start date is August 22, 2025 Responsibilities include: Teaches a classroom of students (high school) with primary emotional and/or learning disabilities. Provides individualized/group lessons to students based on class needs/provides work obtained through the sending district Supports and assists in the behavior management of students Provides feedback to the larger team in meetings regarding work production and academic/social/emotional presentation in the classroom Reviews intake materials and disseminate relevant academic history and significant incidents to all staff through an educational assessment draft and presentation at case conferences. Oversees grading and development of individualized report cards as requested by the school district Qualifications Licensure in education (Special Education preferred) 2+ years of teaching experience Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
