Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Secondary Teacher to join our innovative educational team. As a Montessori Secondary Teacher (grades 7 – 12), you will play a pivotal role in fostering inquiry-based learning and project-based exploration within our secondary program. You will inspire and guide students in their academic, social, and personal development, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. This position is flexible for part-time or full-time teaching with opportunities for teaching specific disciplines according to interests (e.g. Language Arts, Math, History, or other).

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

Design and implement with the Lead Guide a comprehensive and engaging Montessori-inspired curriculum for secondary students, integrating project-based learning methodologies and fostering inquiry-based exploration. 2.

Instruction and Facilitation:

Facilitate dynamic and interactive classroom experiences, guiding students through hands-on learning activities, collaborative projects, and critical thinking exercises that promote intellectual curiosity and independence. 3.

Individualized Instruction:

Recognize and support the unique strengths, interests, and learning styles of each student, providing personalized instruction, differentiation, and scaffolding as needed to ensure academic success and holistic development. 4.

Assessment and Feedback:

Employ a variety of assessment strategies to evaluate student progress and mastery of learning objectives, providing timely and constructive feedback to support continuous improvement and reflective practice. 5.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders to support student learning and well-being, fostering a culture of open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect. 6.

Professional Development:

Stay current with best practices in Montessori education, project-based learning, and adolescent development, actively participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Montessori certification for secondary education (MACTE) preferred or willingness to train
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and pedagogy
• Strong emotional intelligence
• Passion for inquiry-based learning, project-based exploration, and student-centered education
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
