Middle School Homeroom and Electives Facilitator/Teacher The Expedition School – 4.0 Hillsborough, NC Job Details Part-time $22 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Mid-level Bachelor’s degree Computer skills Typing 2 years Communication skills Full Job Description The Expedition School is seeking a part-time Middle School Homeroom and Electives Facilitator/Teacher to lead instruction in a variety of subjects for grades 5-8, support homeroom routines and student development, collaborate with colleagues and families, and contribute to a positive and organized learning environment through Responsive Classroom practices and targeted student support. The Facilitator/Teacher will perform tasks that may include, but are not limited to: Instruction and Student Support Teach and facilitate learning for middle school students (grades 5-8) across various subjects Plan and deliver lessons tailored to student needs Grade student work and finalize report card grades for Typing and Computer Science Provide small-group math instruction for Grade 6 Teach Typing, Cursive, and Computer Skills to Grade 5 students Supervise and support students during I-Ready activities, including goal setting Adjust instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs Administer assessments as required Homeroom and Student Engagement Serve as Grade 7-8 Homeroom Teacher, including leading Morning Meetings Support students during Upper School recess Maintain a structured, organized classroom environment for both self and students Use Responsive Classroom methods and positive behavior management strategies Uphold high expectations while maintaining respectful, empathetic interactions Participate in team and homeroom activities during designated times Communicate regularly with homeroom families Collaboration and Professionalism Work collaboratively with colleagues and specialists (e.g., OT, PT, speech, therapists) to support students Attend and participate in team meetings (especially with grades 7-8) Supervise classrooms when other teachers attend IEP meetings Build and maintain positive relationships with students’ families through ongoing communication Communicate and problem-solve effectively with team members to meet classroom and school-wide needs Contribute to arrival, lunch, dismissal, and other school-wide duties as needed Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and a student-centered mindset
Requirements Bachelor’s Degree Experience:
At least 2 years successful experience working with middle grades students Flexibility and patience Growth Mindset and quick learner Strong communicator and collaborator Technology and Computer Savvy, must learn and be proficient in multiple online programs in quick time Eagerness to work with any grade 5-8 Responsive classroom and Morning Meeting Training (provided by the school) Additional Details Start date: July 10, 2025

10 month school calendar including all student days and some teacher workdays

7:30 AM-1:00 PM Monday through Friday
