UB teachers are committed to education and to helping young people and have the opportunity to create an experiential curriculum that is both interesting and inspiring. The 2025 six-week summer program is scheduled to begin on Sunday, June 22 with an end date of Friday, August 1. 2 Elective “Life After High School” Topics Duties/Responsibilities
Teach two, 90-minute classes and support students during a “lunch & ketchup” period on either a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule (9am-2pm) depending on your subject.
Students are taking courses in the summer that will help to prepare them for their courses in high school in the fall. So, curriculum designed is based on “what students need to know” to get a jump start on fall classes. We work with teachers to create an experiential curriculum that is both interesting and inspiring.
Prepare mid-summer and final student evaluations to help students strengthen their academic performance.
Attend pre-summer training and weekly staff meetings during the summer academy.
Attend Our No Discount Policy ceremony.
Work across disciplines to create a Creative Problem-Solving afternoon for students.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of an

AA/AS/BS/BA

program in relevant field.
Experience with direct classroom instruction and curriculum design.
Desire to help disadvantaged youth succeed.
Sensitivity and maturity level to successfully work in a summer academic program with high school aged students.
Ability to interact with diverse constituencies including program & UNH staff, parents/guardians, and students.
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
Experience in direct instruction of high school students.
Experience participating in a TRIO, or similar, pre-college program.
Experience working with students from low-income backgrounds, multi-ethnic backgrounds and/or who are potential first-generation college graduates.
Salary
The starting salary for the summer position will be $2600.
