Job Description
Newport School District is seeking enthusiastic and creative Enrichment Leaders for our Summer Learning Program. Enrichment Leaders will plan and facilitate fun, engaging, and educational activities for students in areas such as the arts, STEM, movement, wellness, team-building, or other hands-on learning experiences. This is a great opportunity for educators, teaching assistants, or community leaders who enjoy working with youth in a high-energy, positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and lead engaging enrichment activities for groups of students in grades 4 and 5
Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment where all students feel supported and encouraged.
Adapt activities to meet a range of abilities and interests.
Collaborate with fellow enrichment leaders, program staff, and classroom teachers.
Manage materials and setup/cleanup for daily activities.
Supervise students during transitions and support positive behavior expectations.
Communicate with Coordinator regarding student needs, successes, or concerns.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children or youth in a school, camp, or community setting.
Ability to plan and facilitate engaging, hands-on activities.
Positive attitude, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
Ability to manage groups and build relationships with students.
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education, recreation, or related fields preferred.
