Job Description AllUncommon Schools teachers hold primary responsibility for theimplementation of Uncommon’s curriculum and the success of ourstudents. Therefore, Uncommon Schools seeks teachers who arecommitted to becoming best-in-class educators, who are continuouslyimproving instructional practices through collaboration andtargeted development within their school community. We arecurrently seeking both experienced and apprentice teachers for allgrades and all subjects for the 24-25 and 25-26 school years.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement curricula and activities tomeet our high academic standards Analyze assessments that measureprogress towards these standards and use this assessment data toinform and differentiate instructional practices Focus constantlyon student learning, thinking critically and strategically torespond to student learning needs Create a positive, structuredlearning environment to ensure that students observe the school’score values, high expectations, and code of conduct Communicateeffectively with students, families, and colleagues Commit tocontinual professional growth, participating actively in ourannual, three-week staff orientation training in August andinstructional training throughout the school year Participate andsupport grade-level activities and school-wide functions throughoutthe school-year Qualifications Strong applicants for all teachingroles (new and experienced) will possess the following: Relentlessdrive to improve the minds, characters & lives of students both inand out of school Unwavering commitment to urban youth achievinggreatness Belief in and alignment with Uncommon’s core beliefs andeducational philosophy is a must Mastery of and enthusiasm forrelevant academic subjects Evidence of self-motivation, willingnessto be a team player, and a strong sense of personal responsibilityAbility and desire to implement feedback from school leaders andcolleagues to become a more effective educator in service to ourstudents. A background in education is not required for newteachers, but strong candidates should show a demonstrated passionfor working with K-12 students and prior experience working inschools and/or urban communities is preferred.

Additionalqualifications for experienced teachers:

Proven track-record ofhigh achievement in the classroom Minimum of two years teachingexperience in an urban public school or charter school settingpreferred Valid State Certification and Master’s degree are helpfulbut not required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must havereceived a Bachelor’s degree from a college or university beforeemployment begins Candidates must have also earned a cumulativeGrade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher by the time employmentbegins Additional Information Our people are what make us Uncommon.

Our compensation philosophy values equity &fairness and attracting & retaining top talent. CompensationCompensation for this role is between $56,000 to $80,000. Startingpay is determined using various factors including but not limitedto relevant full-time teaching experience, educationcertifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidateswithout full-time Teaching experience will likely have a startingsalary of $56,000.
