Before and After School Counselor YMCA Club Kid – Pine Bush School District Pine Bush, NY 12566 Overview We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as School Program Staff. This role is essential in creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for students. The ideal candidates will possess a passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering their development through various activities and programs. Duties Supervise and engage students during school programs, ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere. Implement behavior management strategies to maintain discipline and encourage positive interactions among students. Plan and facilitate educational activities that promote learning and development in alignment with program goals. Provide first aid assistance when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all participants. Assist in sports coaching or other physical activities, promoting teamwork and physical fitness. Support special education needs by adapting activities to accommodate diverse learning styles. Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a cohesive program experience for all students. Maintain communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and program updates. Requirements Experience in childhood development or education is preferred. Skills in behavior management, classroom management, or special education are highly valued. First aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held. Experience in sports coaching or babysitting can enhance your application. CPR certified preferred Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of various ages. A positive attitude, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
