Gym Teacher for Summer Program Islamic School 9020 191st St, Hollis, NY 11423 Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Gym & Wellness Instructor to lead engaging health, fitness, and nutrition classes for youth during our 5-week summer program. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop lifelong healthy habits through fun workouts, interactive lessons, and hands-on wellness education. Responsibilities Lead daily physical fitness sessions appropriate for varying age groups Teach basic health and nutrition concepts (e.g., healthy eating, hydration, sleep) Incorporate wellness topics such as stress management, teamwork, and motivation Create a safe, inclusive, and high-energy environment Track participation and promote positive behavior through encouragement and recognition Collaborate with the summer program team to align fitness goals with overall programming Qualifications Prior experience teaching gym/fitness, health, or youth wellness programs Passion for working with children and teens in a summer program setting Strong classroom management and communication skills Knowledge of age-appropriate physical education and health standards CPR/First Aid certification preferred Background in physical education, health science, sports coaching, or related field is a plus What We’re Looking For Someone who brings energy , enthusiasm , and a love for health Creative in designing physical activities that are both fun and educational Committed to building confidence and healthy habits in every student
