Middle School Math Teacher 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars East Hampton, NY 11937 Job Overview Ross School (East Hampton, NY) seeks a passionate and dedicated Middle School Mathematics Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves educating students in various mathematical concepts, preparing lesson plans, and supporting students’ academic growth through the effective application of teaching strategies. Duties Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards. Educate students on mathematical concepts including but not limited to algebra, geometry, calculus, and discrete math. Prepare students for standardized testing by providing targeted instruction and practice opportunities. Offer academic advising and mentoring to support students’ educational journeys. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the mathematics curriculum and share best practices. Participate in education administration tasks as required, including attending faculty meetings and contributing to school initiatives. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for learning. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Education with a focus on mathematics. Experience in higher education teaching is preferred but not mandatory. Strong skills in lesson planning and classroom management. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and preparation strategies. Familiarity with discrete math concepts is advantageous. Proven ability in mentoring students and providing academic advising. Experience or knowledge in genetics is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
