Job Description Charleston Collegiate School seeks an innovative and passionate Middle School Math Teacher to inspire and guide students in grades 7 through 9 through general math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra I. This position requires a dedicated educator with strong content knowledge, a commitment to project-based learning, and the ability to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and curiosity in students. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons in general math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra I that emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world applications. Use a scaffolded approach to support individual student needs, utilizing data-driven instruction to track progress and adapt teaching methods. Foster a classroom environment that reflects the school’s values of empathy, integrity, optimism, community, and advocacy, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning space. Integrate Charleston Collegiate School’s pillars of project-based learning into the math curriculum. Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to design interdisciplinary projects that enhance learning and promote cross-curricular connections. Engage students in the outdoor campus setting to explore mathematical concepts in creative, experiential ways. Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student progress, class objectives, and opportunities for additional support or enrichment. Demonstrate a positive mindset, flexibility, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of middle school learners. Stay current on best practices in math education and adolescence, and actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instruction.
