The ideal teammate is passionate about teaching and empowering young adults and is excited to be part of a team that has enriched lives through parks, recreation, and wellness for over 75 years! A Safe Sitter® Instructor plays a crucial role in educating and training individuals, typically adolescents, in the Safe Sitter® program. The Safe Sitter® program is designed to teach young people important life and safety skills, with a focus on babysitting responsibilities. The instructor’s primary responsibility is to deliver the program content in an engaging and informative manner, ensuring that participants gain the knowledge and skills needed to be responsible and safe babysitters. This is a great position for fun individuals who love caring for and developing youth aged 11-14 years of age. Also a great way to earn experience for Early Education or similar college majors, while making money! This is a seasonal position that runs 2 one-week sessions on June 23-27 and July 18-22 during the summer break. Paid pre-camp training sessions will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on select dates between May 12 to June 2. Attendance at pre-camp training sessions is mandatory, however, exceptions may be made on a case by case basis with approval from the Program Director. The ideal candidate will be a certified Safe Sitter® instructor or be willing to obtain the certification prior to the beginning of camp.
