The Role For those who learn best by observing, doing, receiving feedback and guidance, the fellows program is perfect for you. In addition to working alongside a co-teacher and learning on the job in real-time, Fellows receive targeted and unique development as they learn the requisite skills to graduate into a lead teacher role. Graduates with bachelor’s degrees in any major are welcome and encouraged to apply. With daily guidance from School Leaders and the support of a co-teacher, the role and responsibilities of Teaching Fellows will include the following: Responsibilities Support outstanding academic achievement and student character development Create a positive, achievement-oriented, and structured learning environment that excites and invests students as they reach their full potential Build a strong classroom community and relationships with families Commit to constant professional and personal growth through reflection, feedback, and collaboration Fully engage in all Teacher Fellow and school-wide professional development trainings and practice clinics Internalize and deliver innovative and lesson plans Use data analytics to strategize around student outcomes Adapt teaching for the benefit of each student and collaborates with other educators for support and ideas Assesses student learning on a consistent basis and adjust instruction to meet individual student needs Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor Educational Background Requirement Bachelor’s degree (Degree must be conferred by July 1, 2025 for beginning of year start dates) Kindergarten – 5th Grade Teaching Fellows at our Charleston locations receive a starting salary of $66,000 and are eligible for yearly performance awards.
