Montessori Assistant Guide (Primary and/or Lower Elementary) Casa dei Girasoli Montessori School North Charleston, SC 29420 Summary Guides are responsible for providing a nurturing, productive learning environment in keeping with the school’s mission and vision. Assistant Guides model positive interactions with students while collaborating with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units of study as needed. They play an integral role in the building and growth of Casa dei Girasoli Montessori School. Contract would begin at the beginning of our summer program (early June) to ensure a smooth transition into the 2025-2026 school year. Duties The duties of Assistant Guides include but are not limited to: Provide a safe, effective, and nurturing classroom and learning environment Observe, record, and respond to the needs of students Model positive behaviors and facilitate conversations with students Collaborate with staff and/or other educational support as needed Participate in all school-based and state-mandated professional development Plan and participate in parent-teacher conferences Work in partnership with colleagues on identifying and addressing student learning needs and instructional unit planning Participate in staff and school-wide planning to maintain continuity between classrooms and the overall growth of the school Attend staff and guide meetings regularly Maintain open, honest, and respectful communication with students and parents/caregivers Attend and participate in Casa dei Girasoli events Work alongside and learn from the Lead Guide, being the tone keeper and collaborating to develop a tailored educational approach for all students Requirements All applicants must believe that EVERY child can learn and will strive to provide the best environment and care for each individual. Full Time, Contract position Previous childcare experience Willing and able to work summers (opportunities for extended paid time off available) MUST be a keen collaborator and display the capability to work interdependently with fellow staff Agreeable to being placed in a different program when assistance is needed.
