After-School Teacher Archway Academy Sumter, SC 29154 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Age Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and will be responsible for educating students while promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth. This role requires creativity, patience, and the ability to engage students in meaningful learning experiences. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning. Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere. Assess student progress regularly through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom activities. Provide individualized support to students with special needs or those requiring additional assistance. Incorporate creative teaching methods such as theater or hands-on activities to enhance student engagement. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences: Experience working with students in various capacities, including babysitting, daycare, or tutoring. Knowledge of special education practices and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with early childhood education principles is advantageous. Experience in theater or other creative arts can enhance teaching methods. A passion for educating young minds and fostering their development both academically and socially.
