Position Overview:
RISE Education is hiring teachers across all specialty subjects: World Language (Spanish, French Mandarin), Art, Music, PE, STEM, and Technology. In your role as a K-8 Specialty Program Teacher, we embrace a child-centered approach where you will create a safe, well-ordered classroom. You will bring your solid understanding of the national curriculum standards and how to close the achievement gap. In your role you will be tasked with developing and engaging innovative lesson plans that allow our students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally with an opportunity to incorporate technology and hands-on learning experiences into the classroom. The ideal candidate will share our passion for collaboration with other colleagues and promote understanding and communication in a diverse learning and cultural environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment. Set and reinforce clear expectations and routines that are aligned with the school’s overall vision. Develop and implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards. Thoughtfully plan daily lessons and implement specific strategies to meet the needs of all students, providing extra support, enrichment, or variation of work when necessary. Demonstrate strong content knowledge. Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards and diagnose areas of student misunderstanding. Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices. Be accountable for students’ academic growth and increase each individual student’s achievement. Create a positive, achievement-oriented learning environment. Reflect on successes and areas of growth as a teacher, seek to improve performance, and respond to feedback. Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions. Invest parents and families in their children’s academic success through regular communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferred Must love working with children Must be authorized to work in the US Experience, Skills and Abilities Experience working with children, preferred Ability to communicate effectively and often with parents and families Well-established instructional skills and classroom management Enthusiasm for and demonstrated mastery of subject matter Unrelenting commitment to students, self, and school’s constant learning and development Ability to self-reflect on teaching practices and be responsive to feedback
