Description:
The SAS social studies teacher guides students in understanding the social world, both past and present, by teaching about history, geography, civics, economics, and other social sciences, fostering critical thinking and civic engagement. Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with state and district standards. Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, group projects, multimedia presentations, and real-world examples. Create and administer assessments (quizzes, tests, projects) to evaluate student learning. Encourage students to analyze information, form opinions, and participate in respectful debates. Promote an understanding of democratic ideals and civic responsibilities. Help students develop skills in research, analysis, and communication. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Manage student behavior and maintain a safe and productive classroom. Organize and maintain classroom materials and resources.
