Middle-School Science Teacher Mt Juliet Christian Academy 735 N Mt Juliet Road, Mount Juliet, TN 37122 Mt. Juliet Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Science Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Earth Science, Life Science, Scientific Methods, Physics, and Chemistry. The candidate should possess a strong background in science education, with a focus on engaging and inspiring students while recognizing Gods design and order in creation. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that helps students develop strong critical thinking skills. Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in education with a focus in Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related field. Teaching certification and compliance with state requirements for science education. Previous experience teaching middle school science related subjects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues. Passion for teaching and a commitment to the school’s Christian mission and values. Proficiency in educational technology and tools. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and adapt to a dynamic academic environment.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Guide students through the principles of science and Gods Creation while shaping a Biblical worldview that aligns with evidence-based research. Develop and implement effective lesson plans, teaching methods, and assessments for middle school science courses, ensuring alignment with academic standards. Possess a general knowledge of a wide range of scientific principles and studies, including but not limited to Earth Science, Life Science, Physics, and Chemistry. Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on student performance through various assessment methods, including tests, projects, and presentations. Encourage and support students’ involvement in science-related extracurricular activities, clubs, and competitions. The middle school science department organizes an annual science project, where all students participate in a talent show featuring science experiments. At the end of the year, a science fair is also held, and the middle school science teacher will be responsible for managing these projects. Maintain open communication with parents through our FACTS portal, providing regular updates on student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement. Stay informed about current trends and developments in science education, attending workshops and conferences to enhance teaching skills and knowledge. Work collaboratively with other science teachers and faculty members to promote a cohesive and integrated educational experience for students.
