•American Museum Of Natural History American Museum Of Natural History Coordinator, Gift Processing The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world’s preeminent scientific and cultural institutions, and has as its mission to discover, interpret and disseminate information about human cultures, the natural world and the universe through a wide-ranging program of scientific research, education and exhibition. The Finance department is seeking a full-time Coordinator, Gift Processing to assist with all Museum contributions procured by the Advancement and Government/Corporate Relations departments, working closely with those teams and colleagues throughout the Museum. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Gift Processing, this role assists with processing gifts to the Museum, maintaining records in various databases, assisting with monthly general ledger (GL) reconciliation and close and providing gift and membership summaries, as well as other financial reporting as requested. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Process gift and membership donations from all channels (onsite, cash, checks, credit card, ACH wire transfers, telemarketing, stocks, website, Donor Drive and Klik) by depositing checks to Cash Control, using a credit card terminal, providing GL codes to relevant offices, and accessing various databases (Donor Drive, Tessitura and Raiser’s Edge). Process fund transfers, manual gift auto-renewals and payment plan payments, refunds, and new and renewed memberships. Review gift acceptance requirements for all gifts received, gifts for deposit and appropriate fund allocation, and communicate with General Accounting and other departments as appropriate to ensure compliance. Run reports to reconcile gifts and memberships at the end of the month, manually entering and updating any gifts or memberships as needed. Work with other teams at the Museum as needed to investigate chargebacks and returned checks. Assist with daily mail delivery and pickup and maintaining the gift record database. The expected salary range for the Coordinator, Gift Processing is $50,000/annual – $55,000/annual. This position is overtime-eligible and the AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community. Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or another relevant field. One to three years’ experience in a related role. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, NXT, and/or Tessitura is preferred, though experience with other database systems is also a plus.
