Work Schedule:
On-call/as needed; work will generally occur Thursday & Friday between 8a and 10p, Saturday from 9a-10p, and Sunday from 12-8p. Brief Description of the
Work:
Founded in 2019, Creative Greensboro, the city’s office of arts and culture, provides support for, ensures access to, and drives awareness of Greensboro’s creative community. Through a range of programs, services, and partnerships, Creative Greensboro supports the development of a vibrant city. As a VDPS Assistant, you will support the activation of the Van Dyke Performance Space with customer service and house management functions along with the operation of technical equipment including light and sound systems. Work will be scheduled on a needed basis and will typically occur on nights and weekends. The VDPS Assistant position might be for you if you: You take pride in the exceptional work you do for the community; You take pride in exceeding the expectations of customers and residents; You have experience working in performing venues operating lighting and sound systems The physical duties of the job are walking, kneeling, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time and lifting and carrying moderate to heavy materials (up to 40lbs). This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the
Fair Labor Standards Act Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications High school Diploma Or GED 1-3 years of professional experience operating lighting and sound systems in a performing arts environment. At least 3 years of professional experience in a position with customer service responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a Cultural Arts related field
