Gallery Coordinator Mars Landing Galleries Mars Hill, NC 28754 Job Summary We’re looking for a detail-oriented taskmaster to join our small team as Gallery Coordinator. You’ll oversee the daily operations of our gallery and work closely with the Gallery Director to manage inventory and serve as a liaison with advertising vendors. This role requires passion for the arts, strong communication skills and creative problem-solving. The ideal candidate is a proficient writer with a strong background in visual arts and design, along with some experience in a commercial gallery setting. Please bring skills and experience with a Mac OS, spreadsheets, social media content creation, and basic design software, such as Canva. Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus. The coordinator will need to engage with the community and open/close the gallery on select days. Duties Oversee the basic operations of the art gallery, ensuring a welcoming environment for visitors. Develop engaging social media/digital promotion of inventory and programming. Oversee marketing efforts, including social media campaigns and promotional materials, and adhere to strict deadlines. Maintain inventory of artworks and manage sales transactions. Maintain gallery staff on task and fostering a collaborative team atmosphere. Utilize skills in basic photography and digital design to enhance gallery presentations. Requirements Proven experience in art management or a related field is preferred. Strong skills in visual design Proficiency in MAC OS software, including Numbers/Excel and Pages/Word. Ability to illustrate concepts clearly and effectively communicate ideas. Knowledge of contemporary art trends and practices. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with artists, clients, and the public. A degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Design, or a related field is desirable. Must have reliable transportation. As the position sometimes entails working closely with clients, good hygiene without strong perfumes is essential.
