Primary Purpose of Position:
This position is responsible for the coordination of DNCR America250 programs designed to promote commemorative activities across the state, such as the traveling airstream program, online content, and the traveling exhibits. The position also contributes to promotion of commemorations and historical publications (both digital and print) through meetings, talks, and outreach. The position will work on the development of new DNCR commemoration programs. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: America250
NC Program Coordination and Support:
Coordinates the A250 public outreach efforts and event support. Identifies and secures resources for each event. Coordinates the traveling exhibit program and efficient distribution of resources, including staff assignments for exhibit movement. Oversees production of new traveling exhibits. Supports A250 events such as teacher workshops, traveling exhibits and “One Day Wonders,” program at DNCR sites, and partner events throughout commemoration. America250
NC Promotional Content Development:
Develops content and activities for DNCR’s A250 outreach efforts. Writes and produces promotional A250 materials including printed materials, blog posts, social media content, and A250 newsletter. Contributes to the development of new traveling exhibits. Oversees development of A250 webpage

Support office with outreach Promote MOSAIC and print publications
Position/Physical Requirements:
Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must have a valid driver’s license issued from within the United States or be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment. Must be able to work a schedule of three days per week in office with up to two days per week of remote work and some weekend work as required. Must be able to travel overnight occasionally.

The Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is responsible for the statewide America250 commemoration within the Historical Research and Publications Office. It will develop robust educational resources, programming, and foster statewide collaborations with local and other partners to promote the history and culture of our state throughout the commemorative period of 2024-2031.
